Florence Nightengale
Florence Nightengale, 1820-1910, was the founder of the nursing profession as we know it today. Her contribution was her ability to organize, administer, and impose better sanitary conditions where she worked. She was born to a wealthy family, but felt caring for others who were sick or injured was her calling.
